Winchester Christmas Market
Friday 27th November – Sunday 20th December 2009
10am – 6pm Sunday to Wednesday
10am – 8pm Thursday - Saturday

By popular demand, the Winchester Christmas Market will now run for 24 days, until the Sunday before Christmas, Sunday 20th December, just like the traditional German ‘Weinachtsmarkt’ from which it is inspired. In an exceptional setting, with the magnificent back-drop of the Cathedral, visitors will now be able to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Christmas Market and the real outdoor ice rink for longer than ever before.

Although the Christmas Market will be fully open from 10am on Friday 27th November, there will be a spectacular lantern procession leaving the Great Hall at 6.30pm that evening to arrive at the Christmas Market. At 7pm from the Ice Rink, the Dean of Winchester will host an opening ceremony with very special guests.
