By road:
Conveniently located just off the M3 (Junctions 9 & 10) from London (1 hour 30 minutes) and Southampton (20 minutes), A34 from Newbury (35 minutes) / Oxford (1 hour), and A30 from Salisbury (40 minutes).

Winchester operates a Park & Ride system which is easily accessible from the M3 motorway and provides frequent bus services to all main areas of Winchester City Centre. The Park & Ride car parks are less than 1 mile from the City Centre.

By Coach:
A coach drop off point is located in the Broadway, opposite the Guildhall and Tourist Information Centre. Coach parking is available in Worthy Lane which accommodates 11 coaches. Tour operators and group organisers visiting the Christmas Market are asked to contact the Cathedral’s Group Visits Coordinator Michael Honeysett on 01962 857 225 or email michael.honeysett@winchester-cathedral.org.uk.

The Cathedral offers a ‘meet and greet’ service for groups and can assist in arranging entry and tours of the Cathedral and refreshments. By Train:
Winchester is just under an hour by direct train from Waterloo and is easily and quickly accessible from the following destinations: Basingstoke: 20 minutes, Birmingham: 2 hours 20 minutes, Southampton: 20 minutes, Poole: 1 hour 5 minutes, Bournemouth: 50 minutes, Portsmouth: 1 hour, Brockenhurst (for New Forest): 30 minutes

 

Shopmobility:
Manual and powered wheelchairs and battery-powered scooters are available for hire by anyone with mobility diffi culties from the upper parking level of the Brooks Shopping Centre. Book a vehicle in advance by phoning 01962 842 626.
