Travel & Parking

Winchester has very limited city centre parking, and therefore, with an extra 250,000 visitors expected to the city this December, we would strongly urge anyone visiting the city to avoid congestion by using public transport this Christmas. Both the train station and bus station are very central.

Car parks

There are 7 short stay car parks & 9 long stay car parks in central Winchester. Details of charges and opening times can be found by going to: www.winchester.gov.uk/TransportAndStreets/Parking

Park & Ride

There are 2 Park & Ride services in Winchester, at St. Catherine's & Barfield. Both are signposted and within easy reach of the M3. Southbound traffic should leave the M3 at Jct. 9; northbound traffic at Jct. 10.

Buses run from 6.45am - 6.50pm from Mondays to Saturdays. There will also be an extended service until 8pm for late night shopping on Thursdays.

Details of additional Park & Ride services for the Christmas Market will be posted on thiss website in November.
